ComEd launches smart-grid testing zone near Chicago

ComEd, a subsidiary of Exelon, has launched an energy-innovation hub near Chicago to help test a range of new smart-grid technologies. The "Smart Grid Innovation Corridor" will involve 130,000 smart-meter equipped homes in 10 separate communities, and will be used to test the impact of technologies like rooftop solar panels and e-vehicle charging stations.
