Scientists identify protein mechanisms that can fix broken DNA strands

Researchers from Yale University and the Baylor School of Medicine reported that they have found 10 proteins that can be used to repair broken DNA strands. Interaction among the proteins appears to trigger the restoration of the broken strands, which have been linked to cancer development.
