Borrowing costs squeeze many Asian companies as currencies slide

As currencies plunge in value across much of Asia, companies are taking a hit as repayment of loans in other currencies grows more costly. In India, for example, "depreciation of the rupee is causing a lot of pain among some big Indian corporates. Those who have not hedged their foreign debt will struggle to repay it," said D.K. Joshi, an economist at Crisil.
