Facebook's face-recognition plan angers German regulators

Facebook's decision to add language covering facial-recognition technologies to its privacy policy has baffled German regulators, who called the move "astonishing" and said they had reached out to the social network seeking an explanation. German data-privacy regulators have previously sparred with Facebook over face recognition, and last year forced the network to switch off recognition technologies for its European users.
