Hybrid sustainable energy systems gain traction

Hybrid renewable-energy systems that don't rely entirely on solar or wind are slowly gaining favor. In remote areas where other energy sources are hard to access, a system that combines wind and solar can lessen reliance on diesel generators and keep batteries charged while each leg of the system compensates for the shortcomings of the other, said Mateo Chaskel, vice president of operations for Urban Green Energy.
