Legendary typewriter repairman dies

Manson H. Whitlock, a typewriter repairman who became a Connecticut institution, has died at 96. Whitlock, who had two fingers permanently twisted from spending so long holding a screwdriver, repaired an estimated 300,000 typewriters during his career, but never learned to use a computer. "You work a typewriter, a computer works you," he once said.
