Rx noncompliance boosts health care costs among children, teens

Prescription nonadherence among adolescents and children with chronic conditions was linked with higher health care use as well as costs, according to a 10-study meta-analysis in the journal Pediatrics. The study highlights the need for new guidelines on promoting adherence and the importance of finding new ways to improve outcomes while driving down costs, researchers said.
