Social media lets brand models express themselves

Runway models have taken to social media to express themselves, giving brands a new way to judge viability and influence -- weighing the benefits of an official face serving as an unofficial voice. Social media allows models to share behind-the-scenes looks and promote other interests to create personal follower engagement. Agency conversations now include questions on model follower numbers, said Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of IMG Models.
