SWIFT announces directory to speed BIC-to-LEI mapping

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication says it is rolling out a directory that makes it easier to map business-identifier codes to legal-entity identifiers. BIC, also known as ISO 9362, is the most widely used identifier for financial institutions, while LEI is the standard set forth by the Dodd-Frank Act and the European Market Infrastructure Regulation.
