Texas county puts wellness emphasis on physician visits

Johnson County, Texas, hopes its new employee wellness program will help reduce health costs, which have been increasing due to an aging workforce. Brenda Slauson, who manages the wellness program, said education and information are cornerstones of the program, which encourages employees to see a physician regularly and catch any medical problems early for better outcomes and to reduced costs.
