U.S. refiners look for alternatives to obtain Canadian crude oil

U.S. refiners have begun to seek other ways to carry crude oil from Canada to Gulf Coast refineries because of delays in the approval of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline, observers say. Valero Energy is expanding its rail terminals in Louisiana, California and Quebec to increase crude oil deliveries. "If we just sat around and waited for Washington, we'd never get anything done," said Valero spokesman Bill Day.
