Verizon to pay $130B for Vodafone's 45% stake in wireless unit

Verizon Communications made a deal to buy out a longtime partner, the U.K.'s Vodafone, and take full control of its wireless unit for $130 billion. Verizon said there is plenty of room for growth in the U.S. wireless telephone and broadband market. Vodafone will receive $58.9 billion in cash and $60.2 billion worth of Verizon shares. A number of smaller transactions make up the rest of the deal.
