Yahoo, MSN see third-quarter drop in home-page ad quality

Sales of oversize and custom advertisement units on Yahoo's home page fell to 28% of total ad sales in the first half of the third quarter from 35% in the same period a year earlier, according to Macquarie Securities. Oversized ads' share of sales also fell four percentage points for MSN during the same period, the report noted. At Yahoo, the drop comes after display ad revenue fell 11% in the second quarter.
