More U.S. troops will go to Baghdad to protect diplomatic interests

About 350 more U.S. troops will be heading to Iraq to protect U.S. personnel and facilities in Baghdad, the White House said Tuesday, adding that the additional forces "will not serve in a combat role." Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said the latest deployment would allow 55 troops who have been in Baghdad since June to leave.
