Albuquerque mayor takes 2030 Challenge for green building

A group of 23 builders, developers, architects and others in the building industry are joining Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez in taking the 2030 Challenge, which involves efforts to make all new residential and commercial buildings and renovations carbon-neutral by the year 2030. Under the plan, the builders are part of the so-called Green Ribbon Task Force and have teamed up with the city's Departments of Planning and Code Enforcement to devise a new energy code for factors including insulation, roof reflectants, HVAC systems and thermal envelopes.
