California construction focuses on shoring up levees

Construction in the Sacramento Valley of California is focusing on shoring up the area's 130-year-old system of levees. With heightened concern over the need to build flood protection based on a 200-year rather than 100-year projection, new tax assessments will fund $326 million in projects over 30 years.
