IOM urges providers to use respiratory mask with flu patients

The Institute of Medicine recommends physicians, nurses and others who care for patients with the H1N1 flu virus should protect themselves by wearing a respiratory mask. The recommended N95 respirator fits tightly over the nose and mouth and filters out tiny particles that carry viruses and bacteria.
