ISuppli: Global shipments of LCDs up in Q2

Price cuts on older sets and the introduction of advanced new models helped push global shipments of LCD TVs to 30.7 million units in the second quarter, a 14.1% increase when compared with the first three months of the year, according to the latest figures from iSuppli. With a market share of 18.5%, Samsung Electronics remained the top producer of liquid-crystal display TVs.
