Report: Vodafone, 2 others said to eye T-Mobile U.K.

Deutsche Telekom has begun preliminary talks with three telecoms -- Vodafone, France Telecom and Telefonica -- about buying T-Mobile U.K. amid the parent company's hopes of raising $5.72 billion for the unit, the Financial Times reported today. Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann also made news telling Nokia World attendees that carriers will need to simplify their phones if they want the mobile market to grow significantly.
