Is classroom technology a wise investment?

Districts nationwide are investing in classroom technology while laying off teachers and making other budget cuts. Meanwhile, technology use does not appear to have led to increased test scores, and even some supporters say there is little research to support investments in classroom technology. They add, however, that technology's value is seen in skills not evaluated by standardized tests, such as research and collaboration.
