EU lobbies telecoms to enter spectrum-sharing deals

The European Union wants telecoms to help squeeze more wireless and broadband spectrum out of increasingly scarce resources by sharing their bandwidth. "What we see with spectrum right now is it's broken up in incredibly tiny parts spread across 27 different member states. That is obviously not the best way to exploit the resource," the European Commission's Ryan Heath said at a briefing.
