Miss. high court rules on veteran disability benefits, alimony

The Mississippi Supreme Court has ruled retirement pay converted into disability benefits by a veteran is not eligible to be part of alimony agreements. The issue has been decided by courts in different states, with the Mississippi court ruling citing a U.S. Supreme Court judgment that federal law governs how states can distribute military disability benefits.
