Ala. district boosts STEM programs in middle, high schools

The Shelby County School District in Alabama is expanding its course offerings and other opportunities for students in science, technology, engineering and math at both the middle- and high-school levels. Besides one high-school program, two middle schools now have engineering programs. The district's health-services education center is being redesigned to look and operate like a hospital with equipment and technology used in hospital settings.
