Anheuser-Busch is adding analytics to college brews

The University of Illinois Research Park will be the home of Anheuser-Busch InBev's "Bud Lab" that combines beer-market data research and problem-solving related to social media and analytics. The move is part of a larger trend in corporate-sponsored data science programs, with similar efforts underway from IBM and General Motors. The Bud Lab provides the brewer with a "permanent presence on campus," said A-B InBev's chief people and technology officer, Claudio Garcia.
