Benefits consultants will need to transform along with industry

The U.S. is in the process of transitioning from the current employer-provided system of health insurance to a defined-contribution approach that utilizes private health exchanges. The transition will impact benefits consultants, for whom the key will be to "transform, in the way that pension consulting did when companies moved to defined-contribution 401(k) plans," said Chris Calvert of Sibson Consulting.
