Employers increasingly eye private health insurance exchanges

An increasing number of employers are planning to transition their workers to private online marketplaces, where they will be allotted a certain dollar amount to shop for insurance and benefits. The companies see the marketplaces -- which are not to be confused with government exchanges mandated by the Affordable Care Act -- as a way to reduce insurance costs, although some experts warn that workers could see their coverage diminish if allotments don't rise along with insurance costs.
