Fed's Beige Book shows modest growth in summer

The U.S. economy grew at a "modest to moderate pace" in the second half of the summer, according to the Federal Reserve's so-called Beige Book. Housing prices and car sales were up, while corporate lending remained unchanged and manufacturing saw a modest boost between July and August.
