GSA unveils increase in federal per diem hotel rates

The General Services Administration has removed a yearlong freeze on its federal per diem rates on hotels. Hotel rates for federal employees will increase to $83 per night for the 2014 fiscal year, from the previous rate of $77. "The FY 2014 per diem rates released today by GSA are welcome news for government travelers who stay in hotels while traveling on government business," said Katherine Lugar, president and CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
