Interest is high in mixed-oxide fuel from S.C. facility

Mixed-oxide fuel from the Savannah River Site in South Carolina is drawing the interest of potential customers because of weak natural gas prices and expanded marketing. "We expect, actually, there to be more demand than the plant has capacity for," said Kelly Trice, president of Shaw AREVA MOX Services, which is the project's contractor. The facility is about 60% finished but has encountered budget constraints and delays.
