NASA eyes 4 landing areas for 2016 mission to Mars

NASA is considering four potential landing sites for its next Mars mission, set to launch in March 2016. Unlike its predecessors wandering the Red Planet's landscape, the InSight lander will study Mars' core. "We picked four sites that look safest," said NASA geologist Matt Golombek. "They have mostly smooth terrain, few rocks and very little slope."
