NASA reaching out to entrepreneurs

Without a space shuttle program to tend to, NASA is now working with entrepreneurs who want to introduce some of the space agency's hard-won technology to the consumer world. Innovations include the "Robonaut," a robot that can sense its surroundings and could have applications in factory work. "We saw that we're part of a bigger system, a bigger economy and environment," said Jack James, the Johnson Space Center's lead for tech transfer and intellectual property management.
