Strike would degrade Syria's chemical threat, Kerry and Hagel say

The U.S. can hamper Syria's ability to use chemical weapons again with a limited strike, Secretary of State John F. Kerry and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tuesday. Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, concurred. "On this issue, that is the use of chemical weapons, I find a clear linkage to our national security interest," he said.
