Oregon fines construction company $240k for water quality violations

The state of Oregon has fined Granite Construction of California $240,000 for 61 violations of state water quality laws. The fine, reportedly the largest storm water management fine the state has ever levied against a company, stems from the company's failure to install erosion control measures to protect streams during the clearance of more than 160 acres of ground last summer.
