Bodman defends reliability of market data

Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman said Thursday he is unaware of an investigation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission into the reliability of market data. Bodman was responding to a report in The Wall Street Journal that said the CFTC was looking into data given to the Energy Information Administration. An EIA spokesman said the agency believes the data it receives from bulk terminals, refineries and pipelines are reliable.
