Caterpillar announces plan for Singapore plant

Caterpillar announced a plan to open a new facility in Singapore to focus on serving the mining market in Asia. Set to open in 2010, it will supply mining-truck engines, transmissions, final drives and torque converters. Due to high demand for mining and power-generation equipment in Asia, Caterpillar is sold out of most items through 2010.
