Firms subleasing office space get boost from rise in rents

Companies may find it easier to sublease excess office space, as asking rents rose 7% in the first half of the year from the second half of 2007. "Tenants looking to market sublease space are in for a more favorable pricing environment compared to the previous cycle, as overall asking market rental rates have yet to decrease," said Grubb & Ellis chief economist Robert Bach.
