Southern California home builders face desperate times

Experts say some of the foreclosure market may need to be cleared before builders can resume work on projects that were stalled by the credit lending bust. In California's San Diego County, 40% of July's new-home buyers canceled their purchases, while builders and developers have drastically cut payrolls.
