Filipino company to resurrect run-down geothermal plant

Bacman Geothermal has bought a run-down geothermal facility from the Filipino government and is planning to bring the site back online. The 150-megawatt facility, which is split across two turbines and two geothermal plants, will take at least 18 months to restore, officials said. "Our main focus now is to rehabilitate [the] plants and restore capacity and reliability factors to 100 percent," company Vice President Richard Tantoco said.
