GM rebounds with leaner, more efficient manufacturing model

General Motors has been pushing efficiency at its plants in Lansing, Mich., and Arlington, Texas, and workers say they're doing more than ever to turn out enough cars to meet demand. Workers are putting in more overtime, while management is seeking input to improve manufacturing processes. Those on the line are being empowered to highlight quality concerns. Even before GM landed in bankruptcy, the company was moving to a leaner manufacturing model.
