BlackRock's iShares has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to offer an exchange-traded fund investing in international sovereign debt, including U.S. securities, that is linked to the rate of inflation. The Global Inflation-Linked Bond Fund would focus on government debt included in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Diversified Inflation-Linked Index. The index tracks 167 sovereign debt issued by 17 developed and emerging countries. BlackRock said the ETF would be passively managed.
