How do you know when it's time to say goodbye?

The decision to euthanize a terminally ill pet isn't easy and, although always sad, it's different for everyone, says veterinarian Joe Spoo, who had to say goodbye to his Chesapeake Bay retriever Emma three years ago. The decision depends on the animal, the owner, the disease and the financial situation, he says. "It may sound funny, but it's never a good time but never a wrong time."
