Mo. steps in after SynCare drops home care contract

The Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services has taken over the job of assessing whether Medicaid patients qualify for home health care after Indiana-based SynCare ended its contract with the state. Patients and advocates said SynCare provided poor quality work, but company officials said the process was controlled by providers and the state was not going to allow the contract "to work itself out through normal processes."
