Mobile app ranks sugar, fat, salt content in foods

The Obesity Policy Coalition in Australia has unveiled a smartphone application called Traffic Light Food Tracker, designed to evaluate sugar, fat and salt content in food items. Users can enter and save the content information of foods and find out whether items qualify for a green light, indicating a healthy choice, or a red light, indicating the food is high in sugar, fat or salt.
