Workers are by far the happiest when they feel they are making meaningful progress on their work -- a belief that managers can cultivate. "Workers' well-being depends, in large part, on managers' ability and willingness to facilitate workers' accomplishments -- by removing obstacles, providing help and acknowledging strong effort," Amabile and Kramer write.
