Purina targets pet owners with customizable photo app

Pet food brand Purina is going social to promote its new Be Happy line of dog and cat products, using a mobile photo-sharing application that lets people add dog ears and other pet-related imagery to their photos before sharing them via Facebook and Pinterest. "The mobile app was a natural fit. It's a fun and easy way for people and their pets to join our happiness movement," says brand manager Aaron Williams.
