Altera FPGAs will be interoperable with the Hybrid Memory Cube

Altera's Stratix V field-programmable gate arrays have demonstrated interoperability with the Hybrid Memory Cube, the three-dimensional memory packaging technology originally developed by Micron Technology now being moved along by Hybrid Memory Cube Consortium, Max Maxfield writes. Micron plans to sample the HMC before the end of this year and put the package into volume production next year, he notes.
