Calif. state board approves Next Generation Science Standards

California's State Board of Education on Wednesday voted unanimously to adopt the Next Generation Science Standards. So far, five other states have adopted the standards that stress critical thinking and problem solving over memorization. The board did not set a timeline for implementation.
