CFOs like certainty in bonus awards

When bonuses at private companies are not determined by financial metrics but by less quantifiable measures, CFOs can feel disgruntled, according to the 2013 CFO Compensation Survey. The report says 58% of private-company CFOs' bonuses are based on financial-performance goals; 13% of bonuses are for explicit goals, such as customer satisfaction; and 27% of bonuses are awarded subjectively.
