CFPB probes partnerships between banks, universities

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is investigating the deals between U.S. universities and big banks that involve recruiting students to open accounts that may have hidden fees. "Unfortunately, many see students as nothing more than dollar signs in backpacks," said Rohit Chopra of the CFPB. "Too often these deals aren't what's in the best interest of students." It's estimated there are now 900 partnerships between colleges and banks.
