Emergency helicopter service base closes in Ala.

The Birmingham, Ala.-based LifeSaver 1 helicopter was abruptly grounded after the base closed its doors Tuesday. Local officials and hospital staff were shocked by the news, which came without explanation. Two other LifeSaver helicopters are still operational in the state.
